If Clinton supporters really vote McCain in the general election...?

Will they really be making a 'protest' vote; Or will they be making a vote of 'approval' for the past 8 years of failed war, irresponsible laissez faire economics, and trashing of civil rights and civil liberties (Like anyone else who plans to vote McCain)?
