Time of events at wedding reception...?

So our reception starts at 6:00 and we are doing it buffet style and the DJ is asking what time we want everything to happen like the meal start time, the first dance, father daughter dance, the mother son dance, the bridal party/parent dance,the cake cutting, the garter toss, and the bouquet throwing. I am just wondering what time all of them should start and should we just go from one to another right away with no pausing or what? Times will help out. And since it starts at 6:00 we are getting there about 6:00ish and we would like to eat about 6:30ish so we have a little bit of time to mingle with guests. We have the space until midnight.
