Can this painkiller be addictive?

Hi I am 18 and just got my wisdom teeth pulled out on Monday. The pain was excruciating for the first 3 days and I was prescribed oxycodone (percocet) and ibuprofen. The ibuprofen barely makes the pain go away so I have been taking oxycodone every 4-6 hours depending on the severity of the pain. It is day 5 and the pain is still here but it is bearable. However, I don't think I will be able to fall asleep with such pain. I do not want to keep taking pain killers because I am honestly scared of them. I feel as if I will become addicted to them. They have been making me feel much better when I take them but I do not want to become addicted. My mom says to take if I think I need it. It is day 5 and I am in still in pain. What should I do?
