I can't imagine that Bin Laden has a point, but is it fair essment that Obama is powerless to stop the War?

It sure seems that way. I have always thought that Obama chose to pursue the war in Afghanistan just to placate the military industrial machine, right leaning independents and the right wing. In other words, he did it just to get elected, no matter how many die in the process. What do you think?
